About “Future Shock” by Alvin Toffler

I read this book for the first time in 1999. It was like science fiction to me then.

The second time I read it was in 2016 and at that time I saw the prophecies in real life.

Now all we have to do is to just look out the window to see the situation unfold.

Welcome to the new, brave world. We are changing. Change is never easy and most of the time painful. But for those who see the future world, it’s so worth it…

Here is a recap of the book for you:

Toffler was right — the shock of the future is already here.

I wonder what will happen next as the world is changing at a monstrous and frightening speed. Why is it frightening? Because the systems begin to collapse inward. This is a pattern. The speed increases — the entropy increases. Most stay between a rock and a hard place. The degree is so great that the “circuits” begin to melt and the protection mechanisms are activated, and we are left with DEGRADATION. All that remains is what is necessary for survival (such as instincts?). Plus … an important role is played by the inertia of man and matter (which is still energy) in space.

And now — Oh, miracle! — people appear to be squeezed out of the framework by the system, beyond the boundaries. There are not many of them yet … or maybe there never will be more of them? How did “they” do it? There is only one answer: awareness.

Awareness and control of your consciousness are mechanisms that you can use, not resist the system, but to blur its boundaries, make it malleable for change, create it, and reshape it according to your intention. This is freedom, creativity, and consciousness.

It sounds easy — to realize and do for the majority remains the same impossibility.

What follows from this? Wars. Persecution. Misunderstanding. Future. Hope.
